Description and Uses:

Sweet Marjoram Essential Oil is a deeply calming, soothing oil with a gentle warming effect on both mind and body. Steam distilled from the flowering tops of Origanum majorana, Marjoram is a favorite for comfort blends—especially when you feel tense, run down, or physically overworked.

In aromatherapy, Sweet Marjoram is often used during seasonal discomfort for helping ease some of the miseries of the common cold, including congestion and the general achy, worn feeling that can come with it. It’s also widely loved for emotional support in times of stress, offering a soft, nurturing calm that feels grounding and reassuring.

Topically (properly diluted), Marjoram is especially useful in massage blends for:

  • Tired, achy muscles and post-activity soreness

  • Lower abdominal massage during menstruation for comfort

  • Nervous system support when you feel keyed-up or overstimulated

  • Sleep support as part of a bedtime massage or diffuser routine

Sweet Marjoram is also lovely in a warm bath—particularly when blended with Lavender—for a deeply relaxing, end-of-day ritual.

Traditional Uses: calming nervous tension, muscle comfort blends, seasonal support diffusion, sleep support routines, soothing bath blends.

Ways to Use Sweet Marjoram Essential Oil:

Relaxation Diffusion

Diffuse 2–4 drops in the evening to unwind and settle the mind.

Comforting Massage Blend (Dilute Properly)

Add to a carrier oil or Massage Base for sore muscles or abdominal comfort (as appropriate):

  • 2 drops per teaspoon (12 drops per ounce)

Warm Bath Blend

Blend 2–4 drops into a teaspoon of carrier oil or bath gel before adding to bathwater. Pair beautifully with Lavender.

Cautions:
