Origin: France
Family: Lamiaceae (Labiatae)
Aroma: Strong, medicinal, spicy
Perfume Note: Middle
Method of Extraction: Steam Distilled
Source: Flowering tops
Main Chemical Components: Thymol, carvacrol, borneol, cineol, metnone and pinene, may contain geraniol, linlol thujanol-4 or alpha-terpineol.
Blends Well With: Bergamot, lemon, rosemary, lavender, lavandin, marjoram essential oils.

Description and Uses: Thyme linalol essential oil has the 'good' properties of thyme oil without the 'bad' (especially the skin irritating properties). Long known since ancient times as a medicinal herb, thyme essential oil has a warming effect which can be useful for arthritis, rheumatism, gout, muscular aches and pains, and sprains and sport injuries.
Thyme linalol has expectorant properties, and can help to relieve cough and congestion.

Traditional use: deodorant, antiseptic.
Cautions: Do not use Thyme essential oil during pregnancy or if you have high blood pressure.
