Description and Uses: Caraway seed oil is distilled from the dried and crushed seeds of Carum carvi, native to Europe and North Africa. It has long been cultivated as a flavoring and carminative agent for cooking and confectionary as well as in liqueurs.
Caraway oil has a strengthening, refreshing aroma and can be diffused to enhance alertness and grounding. According to Jeanne Rose, caraway seed can be used in a facial steam to invigorate dull and tired skin.
