Almond, sweet - Prunus amygdalus, P. dulcis (Family, Rosaceae) - USA - Obtained from the Nut of the tree and native to Asia and the Mediterranean this oil is the favorite Carrier oil for Essential oil aromatherapy blends. It can be used by itself for moisturizing skin. Good for all skin types. It is a favorite with aromatherapists, blending well with any other oil and penetrating the skin very well. Excellent for skin. Contains both oleic and linoleic acid an small amounts, vitamins A&B, and copper and iron. For damaged skin mix with equal amount of calendula and for mature skin mix with 10% wheatgerm, borage an macadamia nut oils.
Apricot kernel - Armeniaca vulgaris, Prunis armeniaca (Family, Rosaceae) - USA - This nut oil, from Asia, is another oil used as a carrier. Good for the skin, especially for sensitive or mature skin and those with dry skin. Helps calm the inflammation / irritation of eczema and dermatitis. Combines well with an equal amount of St. John's Wort Oil (Hypericum) for an enhanced anti-inflammatory and cooling effect. For Mature skin 5% Borage is recommended. Do be cautious when using all nut oils as some people have allergies to them.
Arnica - Arnica montana (infused) - U.K. - Infused in Almond Oil
Avocado - Persea americana, Persea gratissima (Family, Lauraceae) - USA - This oil is added to carrier oils, up to 20% as an aid to skin moisturizing. Excellent for treating dry skin and wrinkles. Warning May be toxic in large amounts. Used as an addition to other base oils, 10% to 25%. It is good for eczema and dry, dehydrated skin. Should not be kept in the fridge, may be slightly cloudy when cold. Should be a deep green color. Not a nut oil.
Borage - Borago officinalis (Family, Boraginaceae) - U.K. - Comes from the seeds. This oil is high in GLA (gamma-linoleic acid), reputed to slow down the skins aging processes. It is used as part of a carrier oil, to 25%.
Calendula - Calendula officinalis (Family, Asteraceae) - U.K. - This infused oil has an anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, vulnerary (aiding healing of wounds) properties. Good for skin infections, wounds, rashes, bites and inflammations. Also used for other inflammations, e.g. hemorrhoids and rheumatism. Recommended for mixed and oily skins, it is somewhat cooling and slightly drying - used for healing scars. It is rich in carotene and saponins, and is excellent for damaged skin.
Camelia - Camelia japonica (infused)- Japan - Infused in Maize Oil
Carrot Tissue - Daucus carota L. ssp sativus, D. carota ssp carota L., D. communis Family Apiaceae (Umbelliferae)
Castor - Ricunus communis (Family, Euphorbiaceae) - India - Castor has been used for centuries. The oil is extracted at a low temperature to keep the Ricin from being in the oil. Used as an analgesic, clearing blackheads and for dandruff.
Cocoa butter - Theobroma cacao Family Sterculiaceae or Byttneriaceae
Coconut - Cocos nucifera L Family Palmae - USA - Usually deodorised for use in aromatherapy coconut oil can aid tanning and is reputed to filter the sun's rays. Can cause a rash on some people.
Evening Primrose - Centhera biennis - U.K. - Rich in GLA, vitamins and minerals. Excellent for face and body massage blends, especially to combat dry, devitalised skin and eczema.
Flaxseed - Linum usitatissium - USA - Cold Pressed
Grapeseed - Vitis vinifera Family Vitaceae - Italy - An excellent second choice as a carrier, especially for those whose skin seems not to absorb other oils very quickly. This oil is thinner than Sweet Almond and absorbs more quickly into the skin without feeling too greasy. Grape seeds are washed, dried, ground, and pressed with the aid of heat and sometimes refined. Heat is used because the seed has only a small percentage of oil.
Hazelnut - Corylus avellana - France - Cold pressed and filtered. Hazelnut oil is particularly good to use for oily skin as it helps to regulate sebum (the natural oily secretion of the skin). It is rich in oleic and linoleic acid. Very good for treatment of acne, dermatitis and seborrheic eczema
Hemp Seed - Canabis Sativa Family Moraceae
Jojoba - Simmondsia sinensis, Buxux sinensis Family Buxaceae - USA - A liquid wax rather than an oil, used as a 10% addition to other oils. Conditions skin, scalp, hair and cuticles. Expeller pressed from seeds.
Olive - Olea europaea Family Oleaceae - Italy - Used in a 10% dilution, for rheumatic conditions, hair care and cosmetics.
Passion Flower (macerated) - Passiflora incarnata Family Passifloraceae
Rose Hip - Rosa canina, R. acicularis, R. cinncmomea, R. rugosa, R. villosa, R. rubiginosa Family Rosaceae
Safflower - Carthamus tinctorius Family Asteracea (Compositae) - USA - This oil is particularly good for sensitive skin. A great carrier / base oil. In fact, it's our favorite. It's nearly clear, has a great 'glide' that massage therapists really like, is not greasy feeling, absorbs well and washes out of sheets easily. This is the perfect oil for babies' sensitive skin and much better for them than that so called `Baby Oil' a.k.a. mineral oil. We use an organic oleic (the good stuff) Safflower oil for all of our baby products.
Sesame Seed - Sesamum indicum Family Pedaliaceae - USA - Used as a 10% addition to main oils. Can assist with psoriasis, eczema, rheumatism, and arthritis.
Soybean (Soya) - Flycine max, G. soja, G. hispida Family Leguminosae - USA - Can be used undiluted on all skin types. Rich in lecithin and has all 22 health giving amino acids and vitamin A and B complex. Prone to oxidation and can cause acne, allergic reactions and hair damage.
St. John's Wort (Hypericum) - Hypericum perforatum (Family Guttiferae) - U.K. - Anti-depressant, calming and stress reducing, lifts mood, is an euphoric and improves mental clarity. Good for reducing aches and pain and menstrual discomfort. Also soothing and effective on woulnds and is helpful in cases of neuralgia, sciatica and fibrositus. Warning - St. John's Wort is phototoxic so should not be used before going out in the sun.
Sunflower - Helianthus annuus Family Asteraceae - USA - Can be used undiluted. Organic oil is cold pressed. The Sunflower oil found in grocery stores is probably solvent extracted and is not recommended for aromatherapy/massage.
Wheatgerm - Triticum vulgare, T. durum, T. aestivum Family Graminae - USA - Use 5% to 10% in a mixture. Helps eczema, psoriasis, prematurely aged skin, and helps preserve mixed blends of oils from deterioration.

Massage Oils - We produce 3 basic massage oils, Relaxing, Sports & Uplifting. Each is made with our massage base (a combination of Almond, Grapeseed & Jojoba Oils). For each, we add a combination of pure essential oils. Use as a massage, body or bath oil (2 to 3 tablespoons for most massages or add 1 cap full to a warm bath).
Massage Oils - NEW - We now produce 13 NEW massage oils, Aphrodisiac - Female, Aphrodisiac - Male, Cold & Flu, Headache, Insomnia, Muscle Pain, Overcoming Sadness, Patchouli, Peace of Mind, Serenity, Scar Heal & Sinusitus. Each is made with our massage base (a combination of Almond, Grapeseed & Jojoba Oils). For each, we add a combination of pure essential oils. Use as a massage, body or bath oil (2 to 3 tablespoons for most massages or add 1 cap full to a warm bath).
Aromatherapy Blends - NEW - We also offer 17of our NEW blends as pure Essential Oils with no dilution: Aphrodisiac - Female, Aphrodisiac - Male, Cold & Flu, Headache, Insomnia, Muscle Pain, Overcoming Sadness, Peace of Mind, Serenity & Sinusitus. You can blend these with our massage base (sold separately) or diluted with any carrier oil. Each ½oz (15ml) bottle holds about 450 drops.
Aromatherapy Kits - We've created 5 new kits that you can use to make a variety of your own blends: Basic Kit, Breathe Easy Kit, Sports/Muscle Kit, Relaxing Kit & Uplifting Kit. Each kit includes 4 ½oz (15ml) bottles of Essential Oil plaus a 4 oz. bottle of our Base Oil and recipes for making several healing blends.
Lotions - We make several wonderful lotions using our Natural Lotion Base and pure Essential Oils -Jasmine, Lavender, Orange Blossom (Neroli), and Rose.
Flower Waters - made from pure and natural essential oils infused into distilled water. Our Rose Petal and Orange Blossom Flower Waters are especially nice and make a wonderful toner for the face. Our 4 & 8oz bottles include atomizer tops. Put one in the refrigerator for an invigorating spritz.
Aromatherapy Diffusers - We offer several kinds of aromatherapy diffusers ranging from simple ceramic tea candle diffusers to professional quality electric diffusers. We also have Aromatherapy starter kits for relaxation, sore muscles, stuffy head, etc.
Aromatherapy Accessories - Our Wooden Boxes make great gifts or organizers for your essential oils. We offer 2 sizes of mahogany stained wooden boxes that are compartmentalized. One holds 12 essential oils [in ½oz (15ml) bottles] upright and the other holds 24. We also have some small wooden gift boxes with brass inlay that hold 2 ea. essential oils and some other items that you might like.
Kid Stuff - We carry a very nice pure organic Safflower Oil that is actually good for the baby's skin (unlike mineral oil). Also a Breathe Easy Formula and a Relaxing Massage Oil as well as our Baby Skeeter Skatter and a gentle Lavender Lotion.
Natural Pest Control - We now offer several Natural Pest Solutions, including our Skeeter Skatter (one formula for adults & one for babies) and our Mouse Away. The Skeeter Skatter is all natural and made with pure essential oils, distilled water & a little alcohol (as a dispersant). Smells good / Non-Toxic / Works Good. Mouse Away is pure Peppermint Essential Oil - It seems that rodents don't like it AT ALL.
