Bees Wax

Beeswax is a fascinating natural product. As bees consume honey for food, they secrete beeswax in scales from a gland located on the lower side of the abdomen. The beeswax forms inside the honeybee hive. It takes eight pounds of honey to produce one pound of beeswax!

We love the way beeswax candles smell – sweet and faintly honey-like. The candles burn cleanly and evenly, last longer and drip less than the cheaper paraffin candles. While beeswax candles seem to cost more than paraffin, they’re healthier, more pleasant, and actually more economical, as they burn longer.

We offer fine quality, all-natural Bees Wax which can be used for making soothing balms or salves, and of course, for making bees wax candles. Our beeswax comes in one ounce bricks, convenient for measuring when making candles or salves. We also sell beeswax tea candles for use with our candle diffusers.

Here's a quick and easy recipe to try using Bees Wax:

Basic Lip Gloss Formula

1 cup olive oil
1 1/2 ounces Bees Wax (shaved or grated)

Heat the olive oil on low heat, and then remove from heat (turn off burner). Add beeswax to olive oil and mix well. Allow to cool a bit. While still liquid, add 5-15 drops essential oil (peppermint is nice). Sitr again and pour into desired containers.

If the balm is too hard (waxy), add more oil to your mixture.
If it is too soft, add more wax.
